Court officials in Winnipeg have confirmed that former NHL player and city councillor Thomas Steen was arrested again, this time for allegedly breaching a no-contact order.
Mr. Steen was seen by a justice of the peace and released the next day.
Mr. Steen was originally arrested earlier this year on two counts of domestic assault and one count of uttering threats after an alleged attack on a woman at a Winnipeg restaurant May 1.
His release conditions included abstaining from alcohol and not contacting the complainant.
He took a brief absence from council when the charges were first laid but has since returned.
Mr. Steen has removed himself from the Winnipeg Police Board while the charges make their way through the courts.
Mr. Steen played for 14 years with the Jets before he retired in 1995. He ran unsuccessfully for the federal Conservatives in 2008 and has served on city council since 2010.Report Typo/Error
