Unlike an Irish foxhunt, the Calgary Hunt Club, established in 1908, has no hounds and the course is not determined by the hot pursuit of any animal. But despite the lack of a scent-based chase, the ceremonious cross-country gallop attracts riders from many riding disciplines: western, hunter jumper, polo and pleasure.
