Dr. Graham Slaughter is a doctor of internal medicine and runs the Rapid Referral Clinic at Sunnybrook hospital, a department created to tackle the persistent increase in patient volume. Launched as a pilot in 2010, the RRC tries to reduce the number of admissions to the hospital by viewing and diagnosing patients quickly and efficiently. Dr. Slaughter spoke with Globe photographer Kevin Van Paassen about the RRC.
