Court orders recount in Vancouver Island riding

The B.C. Supreme Court has ordered a judicial recount of federal election results in a key Vancouver Island riding.

Incumbent Liberal Keith Martin held onto his seat by only 68 votes over Conservative lawyer Troy DeSouza in the Esquimalt-Juan de Fuca riding following last week's election.

It's the second recount in a B.C. riding, including Liberal incumbent Ujjal Dosanjh's 33-vote victory over Conservative Wai Young in Vancouver South prompted an automatic second look.

That recount is scheduled to take place Friday.

Another recount Thursday confirmed Conservative Gail Shea won the Egmont riding in Prince Edward Island, albeit by a smaller margin.

At least three others have been ordered across the country.
