A review of more than 950 expense reports spanning two years shows travel costs varied dramatically between Senators. On average, senators have spent $141,257.08 on travel between Sept. 9, 2010 and Nov. 30, 2012. Conservative Senator Pamela Wallin, whose expenses are currently being audited, spent $350,461.42 overall and ranked highest for "other travel," defined as trips other than those to and from a Senator's home province.
