Globe and Mail Blog Post

President Obama's arrival on the front steps of Centre Block would have been completely non-eventful for the 500 or so Canadians who showed up on the Parliamentary front lawn this morning had it not been for Prime Minister Stephen Harper's intervention. Mr. Obama bounded up the front steps to greet Mr. Harper without turnng around to say hello. He was prompted however, by Mr. Harper, who motioned Mr. Obama to the front steps. The two men waved ever so briefly to the assembled group from behind a newly-installed pexiglass. That's it. That's all. You can go home now.
