Tory operatives crash Ignatieff barbecue in Eastern Ontario Add to ...

Conservative supporters were dispatched by the Tory war room to greet Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff at a barbeque he held Thursday night in St. Isidore, Ont.

The riding, Glengarry-Prescott-Russell, is held by a Conservative but has been Liberal in recent memory.

According to the Tories, this is the second anniversary of Mr. Ignatieff saying he would have to raise taxes and the first anniversary if his party's endorsement of a tax on digital recording devices like iPods.

Mr. Ignatieff told his supporters that Conservatives don't run against policies that Liberals actually have, they run against policies that Liberals don't have.

"Welcome to Conservative Disneyland," he said.

Apparently some Liberal supporters didn't take the infiltration of their event with the same grace as their leader.

The Conservatives say one of the Tories, a staff member on leave from Immigration Minister Jason Kenney's office who was passing out cupcakes, got one of the treats smushed into his head.
