Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff will be campaigning early Tuesday at a Tim Hortons on the Conception Bay Highway - taking a page from Stephen Harper's playbook.
This is the second Tim Hortons that Mr. Ignatieff has visited in as many days. He dropped in for a coffee at one of the Halifax franchises Monday morning.
Later in the day, Mr. Ignatieff will leave Newfoundland and Labrador and return to Quebec, spending the rest of the day in Charlesbourg, Drummondville and then on to Sherbrooke.
Mr. Ignatieff began his campaign last week in Montreal.
Jack Layton pays his first visit of the 2011 campaign to Winnipeg on Tuesday.
The NDP Leader will make a policy announcement in the morning related to the "sandwich generation" - the generation that is caring for elderly parents and children at the same time - and will visit a local business owner with Rebecca Blaikie, the party's candidate in Winnipeg North. Ms. Blaikie's father, Bill Blaikie, was the NDP MP for another Winnipeg riding from 1979 to 2008.
Winnipeg-North is the long-time New Democratic seat that the party lost to the Liberals in a by-election last fall.
Mr. Layton will attend a rally in the city later in the evening before heading to British Columbia.
Stephen Harper starts his day with a visit to Victoriaville in Central Quebec, where he stops by a fire station in the Bloc Québécois-held riding of Richmond-Arthabaska.
Then he makes a brief whistlestop visit to Drummondville, also in Central Quebec, which is part of the Bloc-held riding of Drummond.
Following this he heads to a Conservative-held riding, Lotbinière-Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, which is southwest of Quebec City along the St. Lawrence River. Here Mr. Harper attends a huge rally with the region's Tory candidates.
Then he jets off to Toronto to overnight in Richmond Hill, Ont.
Bloc Québécois Leader Gilles Duceppe will spend Tuesday on the lower St. Lawrence, meeting with officials from the agricultural industry in Rimouski and attending a partisan event farther east in Mont-Joli. Both events are in ridings that are currently in the hands of the Bloc.
