PEI, Saskatchewan premiers to face off in Movember challenge Add to ...

Prince Edward Island Premier Robert Ghiz has accepted an unusual challenge from Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall.

Ghiz says the two men are now in a competition to determine who can grow the best moustache as part of the Movember fundraising campaign for prostate cancer research – last year, Canadians raised $42-million for the cause.

The PEI Premier says Mr. Wall called to ask him for a donation toward his goal of raising $3,000 by Nov. 1.

By Monday, the Saskatchewan Premier was closing in on $4,000.

Mr. Ghiz says he’s not setting a fundraising target, but he’s already on Facebook asking for donations.

The premiers will get a chance to compare facial hair at a meeting in Halifax in late November.
