Jack Layton also invented the internet, I hear

Globe and Mail Blog Post

So the Layton-Obama story grows. Maybe Obama really stole the story from Jack?

The NDP Leader said he was struck by the similarities in the tales when he heard Mr. Obama speak at the convention in Denver. He said he has written to both Mr. Obama and Senator Hilary Clinton to say that the North American free-trade agreement had hurt working people in both countries "and those stories have to be told." (emphasis added)

Don't get me wrong, it's important to talk about the structural changes that are happening to our economy. I just find it weird that in the past month, laid off workers - in Indiana and Kenora - have also been forced into becoming packers and moving guys as they get laid off.

If any dipper out there would like to provide me with a transcript of his speech from two years ago that cites the laid off workers in Kenora "boxing up equipment" as his job leaves for China then I will drop this and fully recognise that it is just an incredible coincidence.
