As this Toronto Star editorial notes, this hole brouhaha about the forgotten binder has gotten a bit ridiculous. Again today in Question Period hunting for a ministerial scalp has dominated the day. The opposition's blind focus on blood is starting to say more about them than the government. A number of Liberal MPs have tried to link the lost document to some sort of a failure to protect Canada's supply of isotopes. That is quite the stretch and makes the questioners look like morons as opposed to thoughtful members of a government in waiting.
Why has the opposition stopped talking about the economy for two days? For a group, the Liberals in particular, that wants to establish its bonafides as capable fiscal managers it is pretty pathetic that they have thrown their energies into an assault on the handler of misplaced loose-leaf. It certainly gives you great confidence that they'd have the discipline and desire to work on recession recovery plans.
