This is not Watergate

If there you need proof that the time for the summer parliamentary recess is now read this story. Ottawa is all in a lather again about a tape recorder left behind in a bathroom by an aide to Lisa Riatt which might, could, potentially have one minister being critical of another. No need to open an X file or call in Fox Mulder if that is the case because, of course, Ottawa has never seen one politician in the same party chastise a teammate. No, that never happens in a private moment. Bob Rae and Iggy were always bosom buddies, weren’t they? Chretien-Martin, all a bad dream right?

Unless the mystery tape has revelations of authorized burglaries at the Chateau Laurier hotel, the only evidence it provides is that opposition politicians are more interested in soap operas and skulking around washrooms for national scandals.
