Michael Ignatieff has given Stephen Harper possibly the easiest opportunity to continue governing as Prime Minister a minority leader has ever faced. If, as I fully expect, Harper shows Michael Ignatieff the proverbial small flying animal, consider what it means:
1. Stephen Harper is unable to state how much infrastructure money has actually flowed in this fiscal year. Not promised. Not put on a white board. How much has been spent. This shouldn't be hard.
2. Stephen Harper is unable to articulate his plan for the isotope crisis. He either has one or he doesn't. If he does, which surely he must, just share it with us.
3. Stephen Harper is unable to articulate his plan to deal with the federal deficit. Does he have a plan? I haven't heard it yet but a trusted economist like Harper must have one, just tell us what it involves.
4. Stephen Harper is unable or unwilling to share with Canadians what changes to EI he may or may not be introducing in the fall. Or not.
These aren't conditions, it is an invitation to the PM to act like a grown-up. I fully expect the invitation to be rejected out of hand.
