A UN complaint against Toronto police? So it seems--according to a report last night broadcast by TVA news.
According to the network, several dozen of the 200 or so Québécois arrested during the Toronto protests met on Saturday in Montréal. The purpose of the meeting was to prepare a complaint to the United Nations against the Toronto police.
The meeting was organized by the League of Rights and Freedoms, which is helping the participants document their testimony.
One participant told TVA that he was arrested and held for 62 hours; another says she went to demonstrate peacefully at the detention centre but was arrested, searched, insulted and humiliated.
The League of Rights and Freedoms says that it plans to present the file to the UN Human Rights Council.
