Timeline: What's happened in the Senate expenses scandal so far
Add to ...
The firestorm over inappropriately claimed expenses has taken Mike Duffy and Pamela Wallin out of caucus, Nigel Wright out of the Prime Minister's Office, and reignited calls to reform or abolish the Senate.
Although these casualties have all occurred in the past few weeks, certain senators' expenses have been under the microscope since last year.
In his June, 2012, report to the Senate Committee on Internal Economy, Budgets and Administration, Auditor General Michael Ferguson raised questions about the legitimacy of senators' living expenses. Five months later, a Senate subcommittee was formed to specifically investigate Conservative Senator Patrick Brazeau (now an independent), who claims his primary residence in Maniwaki, Quebec.
Mike Duffy - the man at the center of it all - hit the headlines last December. Here is how things have unfolded since then.
