Free internet is only a flush away.
Google is having a giggle this April Fool's Day thanks to slick advertisements for a free broadband service, available through your toilet.
“Sick of paying for broadband that you have to, well, pay for?” the mock sales site asks.
“The Toilet Internet Service Provider (TiSP) project is a self-installed, ad-supported online service that will be offered entirely free to any consumer with a WiFi-capable PC and a toilet connected to a local municipal sewage system,” trumpets a press release.
Describing himself as a long-time supporter of “dark porcelain” research, Google co-founder and president Larry Page says the company was moving beyond “that whole organizing-the-world's-information thing”, which he says is “more or less under control.”
“Today our Toilet ISP team is pleased to be leading the way through the sewers, up out of your toilet and - splat - right onto your PC,” he says.
The TiSP service even comes with a Google Toolbar-based analysis of dietary habits and genetic predispositions, along with recommendations for healthier living.
