Palm Mobifest: Canada's Mobile Film Festival has announced the winners of its inaugural competition at a screening and awards ceremony at the Isabel Bader Theatre in Toronto. The winners are:
— Best of Festival: Regurgitation, by Harley Hay, of Red Deer, Alberta;
— Best Canadian Mobile Film: Swings|Sits, by Michael Tung of Toronto;
— Best caught on Treo: The Trio, by Luciano Leraci of Toronto.
Honourable mentions went to Monkey Trilogy by Ben Murray, and If These Walls Could Talk, by Midi Onodera.
Festival winners were chosen from a pool of 60 international finalists from Columbia, Argentina, Australia, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Spain, the U.S., and Canada. More than 200 entries were originally entered into the competition.
Award winners will be aired on Movieola The Short Film Channel and also have a special screening on Air Canada flights throughout the summer of 2006.
