CounterPath partners with Intel

Globe and Mail Update

CounterPath Solutions, Inc. of Vancouver, a leading developer of Voice over IP and Video over IP softphones, has announced its desire to integrate its software with the Intel 600SM PCI Phone Adapter. Specifically, users of CounterPath's eyeBeam SIP-based softphone, in conjunction with any PC utilizing the Intel 600SM PCI Phone Adapter, will be able to make calls utilizing standard phones, corded or cordless.

CounterPath has worked with Intel on optimizing and integrating CounterPath's softphone and Intel's product, including support of wideband audio codecs for improved voice quality. The 600SM product contains an RJ11 port enabling users to plug their traditional corded or cordless phone directly into their PC to place VoIP calls seamlessly through CounterPath's softphone.
