SlipStream Data of Waterloo, Ont., has announced the availability of the SlipIN Platform as part of its SlipStream SP4.0 software. The SlipIN Platform is a customizable interface that gives ISPs increased control over the value-added services they bundle and sell. The platform is designed to deliver lower support requirements as Internet Service Providers roll
out more services to their dial, wireless and broadband subscribers.
This new concept in enabling ISPs to better manage their service offering was announced by SlipStream last fall. Availability of the SlipIN platform now gives ISPs a single software point for managing a growing portfolio of services from leading application developers, including security applications, content filters, Voice over Internet Protocol and other communication, entertainment or productivity services. The customizable SlipIN Platform allows ISPs to choose the partner that delivers the best technology for their needs.
SlipStream will be demonstrating the new SlipIN Platform along with its latest developments in acceleration at ISPCON in Baltimore and at CeBIT in Sydney, Australia, this week, as well as at CommunicAsia in Singapore next month.
In a related announcement, SlipStream has announced the availability of its core acceleration technology, the SlipStream Acceleration Engine 4.0, in a system targeted to wireless carriers. The SlipStream Acceleration Engine is the core technology behind SlipStream SP.
The SlipStream Acceleration Engine offers users a substantial performance boost over any network with bandwidth constraints, including dialup, wireless andWi-Fi (CDMA, GPRS, 1X, etc.), satellite or broadband lite. The software uses patented technology to increase transmission speeds by up to 7 times and decrease bandwidth requirements by up to 98 per cent.
