Lexmark Canada Inc. has introduced the W840, a monochrome laser printer that brings high-volume printing for wide-format applications.
The 625 MHz processor and 256 MB of standard memory enable the Lexmark W840 to print at up to 50 letter size pages per minute with a time to first page of as little as seven seconds. Its duty cycle of up to 300,000 pages per month make it rugged enough for the most demanding environments.
The Lexmark W840 can be configured with a wide range of value-added capabilities. Drawers can be added to raise the paper input capacity to 5,100 sheets, and an optional finisher can raise the output capacity to 3,750. Finishers can also be added to provide multi-position stapling, offset printing, duplexing and hole-punching — including the new two-hole punch at the top that is tailored for healthcare applications.
The estimated street price for the base model is $2,849 (Cdn.) and $3,449 for the networked model.
In a related announcement, Lexmark Canada also introduced three new single-function monochrome laser printers. The T640, T642 and T644 are designed with a new user interface that gives these printers the ability to deliver customized solutions using the Lexmark Document Solutions Suite that, until now, has only been available on Lexmark multifunction printers. The operator panel's numeric keypad and USB Direct interface add outstanding ease-of-use. These features are part of a common architecture also found on the other laser printers unveiled today: the W840 and the C920.
Estimated street prices for the base models are $849 (Cdn.) for the T640, $999 for the T642 and $1,099 for the T644. All of these printers also have higher-end models that add such features as networkability and duplexing.
In yet another related announcement, Lexmark Canada has also introduced the C920, a high-performance colour printer. The C920 is capable of printing up to 36 pages per minute in monochrome and up to 32 ppm in colour.
The Lexmark C920 also offers advanced paper handling options, including input capacity of up to 5,300 sheets. It can print documents from 3 inches by 5 inches all the way up to large banners that are 48 inches long.
The base model has an estimated street price of $4,250 (Cdn.), while the networked model has an estimated street price of $4,499.
