Symantec Corp. of Canada has announced the release of Norton Ghost 10.0, a backup and recovery system. The latest version of Ghost provides an adaptive tool for backing up the contents of an entire computer and ensuring complete system recovery.
Norton Ghost 10.0 captures the contents of the entire drive, including all files, folders, system settings and customizations, which will offer complete recovery after a serious crash, whether it's a few files or folders or an entire system.
Ghost 10.0 includes support for 128-, 192- and 256-bit AES encryption strengths and a centralized backup and recovery status that offers a view all drives on a system, the levels of data protection assigned to each and recommendations based on backup activity. The system works with a wide range of hard drives and removable media, including CDR/RW and DVD+R/RW drives, USB and FireWire (IEEE 1394) devices, and Iomega Zip and Jaz drives.
Norton Ghost 10.0 is currently available for pre-order at the Symantec online store for a retail price of $69.99 (U.S.). Current users of previous versions and select competitive products will be able to upgrade to Norton Ghost 10.0 for $49.99.
