Toronto— From Saturday's Globe and Mail

An online game developed by Toronto-based Shaftesbury Films as part of the ReGenesis TV show won an International Emmy Award this week in the interactive category at MIPTV, an exhibition held in Cannes, France.

ReGenesis II Extended Reality Game is an interactive companion to the TV series, and uses websites, chat rooms, e-mail messages, live webcam feeds and phone calls to create a story that parallels the TV series.

The first version of the game won a Gemini Award in 2006 for best cross-platform project, and also won a Canadian New Media award. The game was developed by Xenophile Media, a Toronto-based production company.
