Trial launched of broadband over power lines

VANCOUVER, Oct. 25 — IP Applications and Ontario-based electric utility PUC Telecom Inc. have launched a market trial of broadband over power lines Internet services. BPL provides high-speed Internet access through electric power lines.

The trial is taking place in Sault Ste. Marie and IP Applications is providing a highly secure, account management, services provisioning, billing, reporting and call centre support for the service.
