Toronto police closed a major intersection Thursday after a glass fell from an upscale downtown hotel.

The intersection (at University Avenue and Richmond) was closed briefly so crews could clean up the shattered glass and investigate the incident.

No injuries have been reported.

Police say this is the fourth time in two years that glass has fallen from the Shangri-La Hotel.

In September 2013, a 53-year-old man was injured after he was hit by falling glass from a residential unit above the hotel.

Glass fell twice more in 2013, but no one was injured.
