A man is in life-threatening condition after being shot in the head in Toronto's Jane Street and Finch Avenue West neighbourhood Friday night.

Police and paramedics responded to a report of gunshots outside a townhouse at 9 Driftwood Court around 9:40 p.m.

The man, who EMS officials said was in his late 20s, was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition.

Police secured a perimeter around the area where the man was shot and canvassed residents for information. There were no immediate suspects, police said.

The shooting is the fourth time someone has been injured or killed by gunfire in Toronto during the past five days. On Monday night, at least two people opened fire into a crowd of party-goers at a Scarborough barbecue, killing two people and injuring 21 others.

And In recent days, two other people were shot and killed in different parts of the city.
