Several blocks in Toronto’s financial district have reopened after they were sealed off by police because of a report of a suspicious package.
Police say the package was spotted around 7:30 p.m. near King and Yonge streets and a broad area was closed off to vehicles and pedestrians until about 11 p.m.
Investigators had said they didn’t feel it necessary to evacuate the area.
The investigation brought public transit to a crawl, with streetcars held up on King Street and subways bypassing King station.
