TDSB chair demands apology from Hudak for sex-ed flyer Add to ...

The Toronto District School Board is asking Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak to apologize for an election flyer that some branded as homophobic.

Board chairman Chris Bolton requested the apology two weeks ago in a letter that was sent to Mr. Hudak and party president Ken Zeise.

His letter says he's “deeply concerned” with the sex-ed flyer, which was inaccurate and misrepresented the policies of the board.

Mr. Bolton says he has not received a response from either Mr. Hudak or Mr. Zeise and is planning to step up his efforts to have the party apologize.

During the campaign, Mr. Hudak stood by the controversial flyer which stoked fears that parents will be kept in the dark about what their children are being taught in school.

It made a number of inflammatory claims about Ontario's sex-ed curriculum, including teaching “cross-dressing for six-year-olds.”
