Teenager dies after being shot three weeks ago near Jane and Finch Add to ...

A 15-year-old boy is dead after being shot several times almost three weeks ago in a parking lot near Jane Street and Finch Avenue.

Toronto police said the boy was in the parking lot of Yorkwoods Plaza on July 28 at 10 p.m. when two men in a vehicle approached him. The men fired several shots and drove away.

The boy was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, and declared dead on Tues., Aug. 13.

Police are treating the case as a homicide. They are not releasing the victim’s identity at the family’s request. Officers have obtained security camera images showing there were numerous witnesses present when the shooting occurred, and are appealing for those witnesses to come forward.
