RCMP cordon off a crime scene using police tapeJOHN LEHMANN

Three Brampton men are under arrest and police are looking for a fourth suspect in connection with the violent hold-up last month of an armoured-car company office in northwest Toronto.

The April 14 robbery left an employee of INKAS Security Services injured after he was tied up and pistol-whipped by two men who fled in a car driven by a third man, taking with them thousands of dollars in cash.

INKAS does money pick-ups for numerous businesses in Greater Toronto, and a portion of the stolen cash is believed to have been Toronto Transit Commission fares.

A dozen search warrants were executed Tuesday in Toronto and Peel Region.

As a result, two 27-year-old men and a 29-year-old associate face multiple charges, including robbery with a firearm and possessing the proceeds of crime.

Cash, three motorcycles, two cars, furniture and appliances have been seized by police, along with a quantity of drugs.

Staff Inspector Mike Earl of the holdup squad told reporters four people are alleged to have planned the robbery and detectives are still seeking one of them, who has not been publicly identified.

The three arrested men were to make a court appearance Wednesday.

Staff-Insp. Earl said one of them is a former part-time INKAS employee who still had his badge and his uniform, and that "he would have inside information as to the premises' operation."

The three suspects had been living a lavish lifestyle since the robbery, Staff-Insp. Earl added.
