Toronto police have released the name of a man charged in an alleged sexual assault on a six-year-old girl.

Police say the girl was playing in an east-end Toronto park (Kennedy Road and Antrim Crescent area) on Monday evening.

Investigators say she was approached and sexually assaulted by a man.

Thayaruban Mylvaganam, 29, of Toronto, faces six charges including sexual assault, sexual interference and assault.

He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday morning.
