Toronto police say two brothers face murder charges in the shooting death of a man in an east-end barber shop.

Chris Thompson, 35, died after being shot Jan. 24 at the Cut Creator barber shop in the Malvern Town Centre.

Police say a man entered the shop and fired several shots at Mr. Thompson, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Det.-Sgt. Dan Nielsen told a news conference Christopher Perez, 22, and Kevin Perez, 27, both of Toronto, were charged with first-degree murder.

Det.-Sgt. Nielsen said there was a "recent history" involved but would not elaborate on a possible motive.

He added the shooting was not gang related.
