Halton Region police say a U.S. fugitive has been spotted in Oakville, Ont. and are warning he's considered violent and dangerous.
Police say Anthony Joseph Maiorano was in a vehicle that failed to stop for a traffic stop in Oakville on Tuesday.
Investigators say the vehicle was located at a townhouse complex but that Maiorano fled and eluded police who searched the area.
Police say Maiorano, 32, is an escaped convict from Savannah, Ga., who was serving 20 years for aggravated assault and robbery charges.
Maiorano is white, 6-foot-1, 195 pounds with brown eyes, short, buzzed brown hair and with multiple tattoos.
He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with the word Facebook written in white letters across the front.
