A gas leak near an east-end Toronto train station has disrupted Via Rail trains travelling from the city to Oshawa.

Via says trains on the busy line have been replaced by alternative service for the rest of Wednesday following an afternoon gas leak near Eglinton Station.

GO Transit says it has partially resumed service Wednesday night due to the leak, with trains running from Union Station to Scarborough Station, and from Guildwood Station to Oshawa.

It says buses are shuttling passengers Eglinton and Guildwood stations.

Via trains between Toronto and Ottawa were also been cancelled Wednesday and replaced by bus service as a result of the deadly collision between an Ottawa city bus and a Via passenger train.
