A bus carrying an opera troupe fell off a cliff in central China on Tuesday, killing 20 people and injuring 13, state media reported.

The accident happened early Tuesday in Linzhou city in Henan province, the official Xinhua News Agency said.

The bus was carrying members of a local opera troupe, according to the government of Anyang city, which oversees the smaller Linzhou.

Linzhou police confirmed the accident in an online statement, but didn't give details on how many people had been hurt or killed. It said there were 33 people onboard and that the vehicle had been hired by the troupe.
