Most Fridays, I wish I was in Muskoka. Today is no exception. Bill Nighy is there and according to Oxfam source he's a serious charmer: "kissing hands and throwing around compliments with abandon." U.S. President Barack Obama landed this morning, and hugged the mayor's wife Kim, who apparently attended his inauguration. He complimented Tony Clement on the beauty of his riding and promised to bring the wife and kids next time. Apparently the new UK Prime Minister went for a swim in the lake this morning. It all sounds very civilized. Here in Toronto, the McDonald's at Spadina and Queen Street West has been wrapped in Styrofoam and I met three German tourists on the verge of tears because they're here for the weekend and there's absolutely nothing to do. Tourism Toronto, if you're listening, they're staying at the Global Village Backpackers Hostel on King Street.
