Police can't ask you to delete your photos

There have been numerous reports of people being stopped, questioned and even detained by police for taking photographs of the security fence around the Convention Centre. The ISU said questions are just part of their security protocol and that no one should be detained. Sgt. Tim Burrows said police are aware of one incident where a person was made to delete their photos.

"Some officers don't want their picture taken," said Sgt. Burrows. "But if you're in a public place, anyone can take a picture of almost anything." He said that all officers have been instructed that they can not force people to delete their photos. "The message has been sent loud and clear," he said. "We're in no position to ask people to delete those pictures."
