Cpl. Brad Quast, 21, of Medicine Hat, Alta., a member of the Southern Alberta Light Horse regiment, is a college student who wanted to become a police officer or work with correctional services. Amputation was 'the 'least of my injuries'

Bushra Saeed, then 25, was a policy analyst with Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs — a job she’d wanted since high school after attending an anti-landmine fundraiser. Ms. Saeed sustained the most severe injuries of all the survivors, including a right leg that had to be amputated at the knee, a shredded lower left leg, and a ruptured gall bladder.
