China's take on Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance': appalling or brilliant? Add to ...

There’s often a fine line between the appalling and the brilliant. I contend this cover of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” (broadcast on television in the central Chinese province of Hunan) accidentally falls on the good side of that line.

What more can you ask for than a life-sized dollhouse filled with happy folks doing what appears to be the Macarena while singing Lady Gaga in what I’m told is local Hunanese dialect?

Young women in ballerina outfits pretending to play musical instruments, you say? Hunan TV has that too! Click here to see the whole video.

(Despite the decidedly off-topic nature of this post, please feel free to continue the “China is great! China is horrible!” argument in the comments section below.)
