I was pleased to see your article 'I Know How I Am Going To Die' (Focus - Oct. 13), which helps raise awareness of Huntington's Disease.

Jeff Carroll and many other researchers who are looking for a control drug or cure deserve accolades.

I would like to add, however, that onset is not always in the 30s or 40s. My daughter Laura died in 2001, a month after her 28th birthday.

My other daughter, now 36, has symptoms of Huntington's as well. Thanks to genetic testing, I have two beautiful grandchildren who are free of Huntington's, but may have to see their mommy go through the horror of this "ugly" disease.
