Columnist Leah McLaren

Biography 


Leah McLaren was born in Peterborough, Ont., in 1975. As a teen she attended Claude Watson School for the Arts in Toronto, followed by stints studying English literature at McGill and Trent University, where she received a bachelor's degree in 1998.

At eighteen she interned at and wrote a feature for This Magazine. Since then she has contributed to a variety of publications including the McGill Daily, Toronto Life, ROB, Flare, Fashion and EnRoute. This is her first real job.

Leah McLaren is best known for her popular weekly column in The Globe and Mail's Style section. In 2002 she acted as the paper's London arts correspondent. Her writing has been published in The Times of London, The London Evening Standard, The Sunday Telegraph and The Spectator magazine. She now divides her time between Toronto and a farm in Grafton, Ontario.
