Scotiabank is pleased to announce the appointment of Aaron Regent to the Board of Directors.
Mr. Regent is the Managing Partner of Magris Resources Inc. He was President and Chief Executive Officer of Barrick Gold Corporation from January 2009 to June 2012. Previously, he was Senior Managing Partner of Brookfield Asset Management and Co-Chief Executive Officer of the Brookfield Infrastructure Group, an asset management company, and President and Chief Executive Officer of Falconbridge Limited.
A native of Dublin, Ireland, Mr. Regent received his B.A. from the University of Western Ontario and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. He currently resides in Toronto.
Mr. Regent serves as Co-Chair of Mining4Life, and is a Director of the C.D. Howe Institute, Trails Youth Initiative and is a past Director of the Sick Kids Hospital Foundation and the National Ballet of Canada.
