The University of New Brunswick is pleased to announce the appointment of Allison McCain as Chancellor.
Allison McCain holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and an honorary Doctor of Science degree from UNB. After joining international frozen food and produce giant McCain Foods in 1975, he held a number of domestic and international positions before being appointed chair in 2004. Dr. McCain has lent his considerable leadership talents to many worthwhile causes, including education and the visual arts. Community activities also receive his often-unheralded support. He will officially be installed as UNB’s sixth modern day Chancellor at a ceremony in the fall.
Founded in 1785, the University of New Brunswick is one of the oldest public universities in North America. With students from more than 100 countries, UNB has been singled out as one of the country’s best institutions for learning related to entrepreneurship. The largest research institution in New Brunswick, UNB offers 50 programs and participates in over 30 different fields of graduate work and research.
