Grant Isaac, chair of the Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA), has announced the following appointment.
Dr. Barrett, President and CEO, responsible for the CNA’s overall leadership, will be a strong advocate for the nuclear industry. The former Canadian ambassador to Austria, Dr. Barrett also served as the Chair of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors and as Canada’s Resident Representative to the International Organizations headquartered in Vienna.
Dr. Barrett has held senior positions in the Canadian foreign service, the Privy Council Office, and the Office of the Governor General of Canada.
He holds an MA from the University of Toronto and a PhD from the London School of Economics.
The Canadian Nuclear Association represents the nuclear industry in Canada. Its members directly employ 30,000 Canadians who mine and mill uranium, design and build reactors, generate electricity, advance medicine through life-saving diagnostics and therapies, and enable manufacturers to improve the quality of their goods.
