MacDon Industries Ltd. is pleased to announce the appointment of Marcus R. T. Maier, P. Eng. to the position of Director of Production Engineering. Marcus joined MacDon in August of 2009 as the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering. In this new role he is responsible for Current Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and the Company's Lean Strategy.
Marcus received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba in 1993 and completed a Masters of Science degree in 1998. He has been a registered Professional Engineer in Manitoba since 1999.
In 1996, Marcus joined Standard Aero Ltd. in Winnipeg, as a Gas Turbine Performance Engineer. He was promoted to Director of Engineering in 2001. In 2006, Marcus was given the additional responsibility of Director of Service Centre Operations, a global operation of three engine service centres. Marcus also led the lean transformation of the business unit, an 18 month enterprise level transformation project.
Since joining MacDon, Marcus has assembled a high performing team of engineers and lean specialists to support current product manufacture, new product development and lean initiatives.
