The Board of Directors of the Canadian Payroll Association is pleased to announce the election of Marie Lyne Dion, CPM, MBA as its Chair for 2014-2015. In her role, Ms. Dion will champion payroll compliance through education and advocacy.

The Association provides the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) and Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certifications, Professional Development Seminars, Payroll Best Practices Guidelines and other payroll compliance resources that enable payroll practitioners to keep their employers compliant with new payroll legislation, and harness technology and best practices.

With more than 25 years of payroll experience, Ms. Dion is currently the Section Head in Pension Plan Benefits Management (retirees' pay) at the Montreal Transit Corporation. As a Canadian Payroll Association member in Quebec for over 20 years and a Certified Payroll Manager (CPM), Ms. Dion has been active as a student, volunteer, instructor and leader.

She has served on the Association's Certification Redevelopment Task Force and the Quebec Government Relations Advisory Council, and chaired the Quebec Regional Council and the CPM Course Revision Task Force. Ms. Dion also facilitates Professional Development Seminars on a variety of topics, such as Taxable Benefits & Allowances, Employment Standards, Terminations, Pensions & Benefits and Year-End.

As the national association representing employers' payroll interests since 1978, the CPA's advocacy goal is to make payroll legislation, regulations and administration more efficient and effective for all stakeholders. The Canadian Payroll Association annually influences the payroll compliance practices, processes and remitting systems of over 500,000 organizational payrolls.
