Tiffany Park Homes is gearing up to launch a second phase of detached homes on 40-foot lots at the growing Thornberry Woods subdivision in Maple. Buyers in first phase, meanwhile, are beginning to move in.
The builder is one of several constructing homes at the site west of Dufferin Street, between Major Mackenzie Drive and Rutherford Road.
The community will include schools and community centres, as well as parks, woodlots and walking trails.
"It's an up-and-coming project," Tiffany Park sales representative Irene Ivanyshyn says. "This whole area is very brand new."
The site is close to the Vaughan Mills centre, where there are hundreds of stores, eateries and entertainment outlets.
But shopping will be even more convenient when a proposed 170,000-square-foot mall is built on the northeast corner of Dufferin and Major Mackenzie.
Canada's Wonderland and the Eagles Nest Golf Club are also located in the area.
It is a short drive to the GO Transit station and highways 400 and 407.
There are still a handful of properties remaining in the initial release of 90 lots. Interested buyers could move into the neighbourhood as soon as January.
Like the first phase, the new collection, to be officially launched next month, will consist of two-storey homes with four bedrooms and two-car garages. Exteriors will be all brick, brick and stone, or stone and stucco.
Many models will have principal rooms situated toward the rear of the house, and rear eat-in kitchens adjoining family rooms with gas fireplaces.
In some homes, such as the 3,183-square-foot Snowberry model, there are 17-foot ceilings in the family room. Generally, however, the houses have nine-foot ceilings.
There are hardwood floors on the main level, oak staircases and tall upper cabinets in the kitchen.
Upstairs, several plans include master bedrooms featuring walk-in closets and en suite bathrooms with oval tubs, separate glass shower stalls and twin sinks.
But buyers can opt for as many as three en suite bathrooms upstairs, as well as main- and second-floor laundry rooms.
Purchasers will receive a bonus package of stainless-steel appliances, or an upgraded handrail with decorative metal pickets or hardwood flooring in the master suite and hallway.
