LISTING AGENTS Laura Golbeck, Miranda McKenna and Jenelle Cameron, Re/Max Hallmark Realty Ltd.
The Action: This one-bedroom loft was the only one available at the Liberty Lofts in early May, resulting in several showings and two busy weekend open houses. Within days a sweetened deal of $355,050 was accepted by the seller.
What They Got: On the third floor of the former Gillette Razor factory in Moss Park, 684 square feet of space was transformed into this urban loft bearing 11-foot ceilings, exposed brick walls and wood beams, as well as laminate floors and west-facing windows.
The kitchen, dining and entertaining area is open concept with a Juliet balcony and bedroom and four-piece bathroom to one side.
Laundry and storage facilities complete this loft, that has a monthly fee of $499 to cover utilities.
The Agent’s Take: “This unit has a lot of appeal because it’s a true loft conversion converted from the old Gillette Razor factory with extremely high ceilings, nice exposed brick and ... wood beams from the original structure,” says agent Laura Golbeck.
“This would be considered one of the smallest [lofts], but it has a really great floor plan, so it feels a lot bigger than the square footage states.”
The common areas also have an authentic loft vibe. “It’s a really cool building,” Ms. Golbeck adds. “Even the lobby is so different from any other building.”
