LISTING AGENT Ken Priestman, Century 21 Leading Edge Realty Inc.

The Action: In the Fenside community at the junction of Highway 401 and the Don Valley Parkway, this renovated, semi-detached residence was acquired in a bidding war just a couple years ago. It sold in a similar fashion with a trio of offers on the table earlier this year.

What They Got: What appears to be a bungalow is a back-split residence with four levels, including an office and recreation room in the basement.

The 55-year-old structure was gutted and given new mechanical systems and modern décor, such as hardwood floors, pot lights and a sky-lit staircase with glass panels connecting the upper and lower levels, both with two bedrooms and bathrooms, to the main-floor living room and renovated kitchen with granite counters and high-end stainless steel appliances.

The upper and lower levels both have two bedrooms and a bathroom.

A private driveway and detached double garage provides parking on the 20-by 139-foot lot, which was redesigned with a deck and a pizza oven.

The Agent's Take: "It's a fantastic location in there with Fenside Park, Fenside school, a community centre and ice rink," agent Ken Priestman says.

"My clients lived in Markham and moved down there because he worked downtown and wanted to cut his trek from an hour to 20 or 25 minutes."

Unconventional touches were also prized. "It's an ultra-modern design with the skylight, stainless steel railings, seamless glass showers, hardwood throughout and a sound system built-in inside and outside of the home," Mr. Priestman said.

"[Plus] it has an authentic pizza oven … they incorporated into their backyard design with a new fence."
