LISTING AGENTS Cameron Weir and Scott Hanton, Keller Williams Advantage Realty
The Action: Last year, agents Cameron Weir and Scott Hanton sold a couple units in the Waldorf Astoria Lofts.
This one-bedroom suite was purchased in less than the 21-day average in the eight-storey mid-rise, once 20 groups paraded through the open house and another 15 conducted private tours.
What They Got: The former Waldorf Astoria hotel was built in in the 1960s, but three decades later was converted to house residential condominiums, like this 494-square-foot unit.
Monthly fees of $327 pay for utilities, on-site gym and rooftop deck.
Aside from a renovated bathroom and kitchen with tile floors, a breakfast bar and stainless-steel appliances, this third floor has a typical plan with laminate floors, crown mouldings and pot lights in the master suite and entertaining area, which has a walk-in closet and electric fireplace respectively, plus provisions for a Bose sound system and stacked laundry facilities.
The Agent’s Take: “It’s located at Church and Charles, so you’re a skip and a hop to the subway,” says Mr. Weir, who adds that newly built units nearby are much more expensive.
“At $283,000, to get into that area for that price point – and to have a finished and renovated place – is pretty good.”
