The Action: In a waterfront building attached to the Radisson Hotel, this two-bedroom penthouse overlooking the lake had an offer within its first week on the market. Four latecomers waited on the sidelines in early April to make their own bids, which came to naught as the first proposal was accepted.

What They Got: An established mid-rise, the building brings together commercial operations and private residences above, such as this 1,763-square-foot unit with hardwood floors, southwest-facing windows and balcony. A living room with fireplace opens onto the kitchen with peninsula and breakfast bar.

On opposite wings, there are two bedrooms, including one with a walk-in closet and one of two full bathrooms.

The unit has been outfitted with new stainless steel appliances and laundry machines, and a locker and parking are included. Monthly fees of $1,559 cover water and access to fitness and recreation rooms.

The Agent's Take: "On the west side of the Radisson Hotel, people don't even realize this building, called Admiralty Point, is there, so it's a hidden gem," agent Ed Timermanis says. "This has its own gym, but what you share in common with the hotel is the pool and if you like, you can have room service – that's the real attraction. What makes it stand out from the rest is the unobstructed view of the waterfront and how it was decorated."
